Welcome to rightee.com. This blog has been about for several years, and at times through the years it’s been tended well, trimmed and watered regularly. Then there have been months when it has been left to wither and be left for dead. To continue the gardening analogies, I’ve decided that it’s time to dump a great load of manure, compost and mulch on the soil and hopefully lots of great stuff will emerge (maybe I’m putting too much faith in my amateur green fingers)
Anyway a bit about me and what you can find on this blog. My current main interest is working on a Masters at the Centre of Alternative Technology. This covers all sorts of environmental and building issues. My thesis is on food production, something which has become a hot topic of late. Therefore expect many posts on my research and discoveries in this area. You can also click on the studies button above to download any of the essays and any feedback would be appreciated.
My previous work was in IT and I can still do some web design and integration with Oracle/Java was my “skill” at both Oracle and Sheffield University. However as I last worked in June 2007, my skills may be becoming a little rusty. More recent work has been of the gardening variety and I’ve had an allotment and worked on several organic farms in the last couple of years through the WWOOF scheme.
Finally I do like to take the odd photo. And although the cameras I used are not particular high-tech, I like to think I take the odd good photo. A few have been published online and in print.
- Compost Toilets and Self Rule (Yes Magazine)
- Anziani Moderni (City of Florence Health Department)
- I see Christmas – Christmas Tree in Goa (To be published in late 2008)
- I see Modern Britain (A Creme Egg!)
- Park Hill Flats (Open University Booklet)
- Schmap (Various Photos)
- The Healing Power of Culinary Herbs (not yet published)
- Pan Advertising Agency (Italy) (This picture in Brochure)
- NeuElbStadt (Graphical Artist) – Glastonbury photo
- Anthropologie et Diversité Culturelle (Front cover of Canadian School Text Book)
Various places seem to use photos (But I do use a creative commons license so it’s fine)
- CafeBabel article about Freiburg
- Quite a lot have popped up on wikipedia and wikimedia at times too
You can click through on the photo section above to my flickr photos. If you want to use one for anything then get in touch.
So that’s about it. You’ll probably find me ranting about politics, environmental stuff and anything else that I fancy talking about. Drop me a comment or get in touch on the contact page if you want to find out anything else
